Aubrey Plaza Supports The Race to the Music 5K Run/Walk In Delaware
Aubrey has helped promote the first ever “Race to the Music 5K run/walk” in Delaware by writing this message on their website.
Hi Friends of The Music School of Delaware,
Being a native Wilmingtonian and former piano student at The Music School of Delaware (in my day, it was The Wilmington Music School), I was so happy to see that the Music School is hosting its inaugural Race to the Music 5K run/walk on Sunday, September 12th.
As some of you may know, I am presently a cast member (April is my character) on the TV show “Parks and Recreation.” Working in the arts has given me a great appreciation for arts education organizations like the Music School. It is vital these organizations continue to thrive and educate the actors, musicians and artists of tomorrow.
Please help me support the Music School by joining my fellow cast members and me on Team Parks and Rec. Anyone who joins or donates to our team in support of the Music School will get a signed “Parks and Rec” cast picture. Although due to my taping schedule I may not be able to attend the race, I hope to create a strong team that will lead the way in my absence. I will keep tabs on the team and hope you will help me spread the word.
Register online today — On the landing page, go to the Choose a Team box and scroll down until you see Team Parks and Rec. I hope you will join the team and help me show support for the wonderful programs of The Music School of Delaware.

Aubrey Plaza in “Stand Up 2 Cancer” PSA
More than a dozen young Hollywood stars, including Zachary Levi of “Chuck,” Clark Duke of “Greek” and Naya Rivera of “Glee” have joined forces for a public service announcement in support a cause that’s recently become close to my heart–innovative cancer research.
Zac Efron, Dakota Fanning, Andrew Garfield, Vanessa Hudgens, Logan Lerman, Kristen Bell, Jon Heder, Aubrey Plaza, Sofia Vassilieva, Olivia Munn, Donald Faison, Aaron Yoo and William Moseley also appear in the Stand Up To Cancer “Change The Odds” PSA that launched Tuesday online. Marc Webb (“(500) Days of Summer”) and Rich Lee co-directed the PSA.
It will be featured on the Stand Up To Cancer telethon airing at 7 p.m. Sept. 10 on ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, HBO, Discovery Health, E!, MLB Network, The Style Network, VH1, HBO Latino, Showtime, TV One and G4. Katie Couric, Diane Sawyer and Brian Williams will host.
Stand Up To Cancer works to raise funds for research. According to a press release: “The primary goal of SU2C is to raise funds for groundbreaking translational research to accelerate the delivery of new therapies to patients, getting them from the ‘bench to the bedside’ as quickly as possible. SU2C brings together scientists from different disciplines across various institutions to work collaboratively, rather than competitively, at a critical time in the field of cancer research.”
