Parks and Recreation actress Aubrey Plaza loves basketball. But it apparently doesn’t love her back.
The 40-year-old actress tore an ACL while playing a game of “knockout” at the Phoenix Mercury practice facility.
She was shown during Saturday’s ABC broadcast of the WNBA All-Star game with crutches and a huge ice wrap on her right knee.
Play-by-play announcer Ryan Ruocco revealed that Plaza tore her ACL, which happened between the skills event and the actual game.
This was the second ACL tear from basketball for Plaza.
On Friday, Plaza was featured on Megan Rapinoe and Sue Bird’s podcast, A Touch More, and talked about her first ACL tear during a women’s recreation league in Los Angeles.
The actress mentioned she disguised herself so she could play on the same team as her sister, Natalie.
“And then, in the middle of the game, I went up for a shot and tore my ACL on the court in a wig. That’s kind of like the worst-case scenario because I was trying to go undercover, and I just snapped my knee in half, basically.”
