“The White Lotus” Receives Nominations at 2023 SAG Awards

The nominations for the 2023 Screen Actors Guild Awards were announced, and The White Lotus season 2 received two nominations! The cast of the show received a nomination for “Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series,” and Jennifer Coolidge received a nomination for “Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series.”

Aubrey Plaza Rumored To Co-Star In “Agatha: Coven of Chaos”

UPDATE: The casting news has been confirmed by Variety.

It was reported by The Illuminerdi that Aubrey Plaza will be joining the Disney+ series Agatha: Coven of Chaos.

Now we at The Illuminerdi can exclusively reveal that Aubrey Plaza is set to join the Disney+ series in an undisclosed role described as part of a group of supporting female characters.

Aubrey Plaza is best known for her role in the hit sitcom Parks and Recreation. Since then, she has starred in several comedies including Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates and Dirty Grandpa. Over the last few years, she has been delivering acclaimed performances in dramas like Black Bear and most recently Emily the Criminal. She can currently be seen in the second season of the Emmy-winning show The White Lotus, for which she already garnered Emmy buzz. Agatha: Coven of Chaos marks Aubrey Plaza’s second Marvel role as she already played Lenny Busker in Legion.

Our sources also revealed that the Disney+ series is looking to shoot briefly for a week or two next month, before production formally begins in January through the early summer of 2023 in Atlanta.

Agatha: Coven of Chaos will arrive on Disney+ in Winter 2023/Spring 2024.

Aubrey Plaza Nominated at 2022 Gotham Awards

Aubrey Plaza has received a nomination for the “Outstanding Lead Performance” award at the 2022 Gotham Awards! Aubrey received the nomination for her portrayal of Emily in the movie Emily the Criminal. This year’s ceremony will be held live Monday, November 28th at 7 p.m. at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City.

Aubrey Plaza Honored at 2022 Newport Beach Film Festival

Aubrey Plaza will be honored at the 2022 Newport Beach Film Festival as a recipient of the Artist of Distinction Award. This award is “presented to individuals known for their contribution to the arts, philanthropic endeavors, and an overriding commitment to their craft to tell unique and bold stories.” The 2022 Newport Beach Film Festival’s awards ceremony will be held on Sunday, October 16th at Balboa Bay Resort.

“The White Lotus” Season 2 Premieres October 30th

There is now an official premiere date for The White Lotus season 2! The show will premiere on HBO (and HBO Max) on October 30, 2022!

Aubrey Plaza Join Francis Coppola’s “Megalopolis”

Following some of the best reviews of her career in Emily the Criminal, Aubrey Plaza has found that next big feature film. Sources say she is set to join the ensemble cast of Francis Ford Coppola’s passion project Megalopolis. The film already stars Adam Driver, Forest Whitaker, Nathalie Emmanuel, Jon Voight and Laurence Fishburne.

Deadline was first to break the news that the iconic director would be moving forward with the project later this year with Coppola directing the independently financed film from his own script. Here’s how he has described the contemporary drama to Deadline in the past: The fate of Rome haunts a modern world unable to solve its own social problems in this epic story of political ambition, genius and conflicted love.

The budget will be just under $100 million, and production begins this fall. Distribution rights are being brokered by attorney Barry Hirsch.

As for Plaza, her recent film Emily the Criminal premiered earlier this year Sundance. She is also set to star in the next season of HBO’s hit anthology series The White Lotus.

She is repped by CAA, MGMT Entertainment and attorney Ira Schreck.
