Honey Don’t! is getting ready to slide into theaters this summer.

Focus Features announced Wednesday that the dark comedy feature is set for wide theatrical release August 22nd. Margaret Qualley, Aubrey Plaza, Charlie Day, Billy Eichner and Chris Evans round out the cast for director Ethan Coen‘s movie.

Honey Don’t!, which is set to premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, centers on Honey O’Donahue (Qualley), a small-town private investigator looking into deaths related to a mysterious church.

Coen helmed the film from a script he co-wrote with wife Tricia Cooke. The pair also co-wrote Coen’s 2024 crime comedy Drive-Away Dolls that starred Qualley, Geraldine Viswanathan and Pedro Pascal.

Producers for Honey Don’t! include Coen, Cooke, Robert Graf, Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner.

The iconic and trailblazing Joan Rivers, who passed away in September 2014, will be honored with a brand-new special on NBC. Known for her acerbic wit and bold, fearless takes, Rivers inspired a generation of comedians and broadcasters, many of whom will appear in the program. Here’s everything to know about it:

The special will premiere on Tuesday, May 13 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on NBC. It was recorded at the historic Apollo Theater in New York City and will feature comedy titans like Rachel Brosnahan, Margaret Cho, Nikki Glaser, Tiffany Haddish, Chelsea Handler, Neil Patrick Harris, Bill Maher, Howie Mandel, Joel McHale, Tracy Morgan, Patton Oswalt, Aubrey Plaza, Sarah Silverman, Melissa Rivers, Jean Smart, and Rita Wilson.

Performers will deliver a mix of classic Rivers zingers and modern stand-up, and there will be musical bits, as well.

An extended, uncensored version of the special will premiere May 14 on Peacock. (It will feature more comics who will be announced later!)

On Thursday, June 5 at 10 p.m. ET/PT, an encore presentation of the original special will air on E!

“Given that I’m dead, I assume someone will finally decide to honor me. Well, it’s about time,” Rivers wrote in a letter she left for her daughter, Melissa Rivers.

“Joan Rivers is deserving of her status as one of the funniest and most influential comedians of all time,” said Jen Neal, Executive Vice President, Live Events and Specials, NBCUniversal Entertainment. “She paved the way for so many women who came after her and this special is a way to honor her for all of her incredible achievements both on the stage and off.”

Rivers’ first TV appearance was on The Ed Sullivan Show following her rise to fame in the 1960s. But she reached the stratosphere when she was featured on The Tonight Show, then hosted by Johnny Carson, who brought her on as a guest and guest host many times.

After her husband’s death, Rivers reinvented herself as an entertainment correspondent, more or less inventing the “red carpet interview” as we know it today. She also hosted Fashion Police on E! and was posthumously inducted into the Television Hall of Fame. She is survived by her daughter, Melissa, who has one son.

As Rivers herself once put it, “I think of opening doors not just for women comedians — I never think about women. I think just [that I’m] always trying to push for myself, push the boundaries [and] make them listen. Make them listen to the truth and laugh about it.”

GLAAD handed out its annual honors — celebrating media that showcases fair, accurate and inclusive representations of LGBTQ issues — on Thursday night in Los Angeles.

Agatha All Along, Hacks, 9-1-1: Lone Star, My Old Ass, Will & Harper and breakout musical artist Doechii were among the winners at the 36th annual GLAAD Media Awards, in a ceremony hosted by Shrinking‘s Michael Urie. Cynthia Erivo was also a special honoree, receiving the Stephen F. Kolzak award.

The ceremony is typically split into two parts, with half the awards handed out in L.A. and half handed out at a later date in NYC; this year, however, all 33 honors were announced at the L.A. event. For those who didn’t attend in person, the show will stream on Hulu beginning April 12.

Aubrey Plaza made her first public appearance since the tragic loss of her husband, Jeff Baena, last month. Aubrey appeared briefly to announce musical guests Miley Cyrus and Brittany Howard during the SNL50 Celebration last night in New York City.

Aubrey Plaza, Michael Shannon, and Bad Bunny star in the new campaign for RITZ crackers that will be premiering during Super Bowl LIX. The commercial is set to air on Sunday, February 9th during the game.

Aubrey Plaza wrote an opinion piece for Delaware Online about President Joe Biden; check it out below!

I met Joe Biden when I was sixteen years old at the Joe Biden youth leadership conference in Delaware. I was so excited to be chosen to represent my high school and get to voice my opinions about local issues and policies. I’ll never forget Joe delivering the closing speech in the auditorium – his face getting all red because he was so impassioned. I can’t remember the topic of the speech, but I knew he meant every word he was saying up there! It was fiery and we all loved it.

Years later, when I was cast on “Parks and Recreation,” I had the privilege of working with Joe and Jill. We got a tour of the vice president’s office and I found a note on Joe’s desk that had my name on it and some facts about where we had met in Delaware. I felt so special that he remembered we had a history. In true April Ludgate style, I pocketed the note. Mike Schur [the creator of “Parks and Recreation”] was very concerned I’d get in trouble. It was the White House after all. You can’t steal from the White House! Turns out you can.

Some more years later, I was asked to host “Saturday Night Live.” A dream come true. I pitched an idea to Lorne Michaels to have Joe (who was the sitting president at that time) do a little bit in my monologue. Lorne seemed skeptical, but he let me pursue it. I was hoping that Joe would remember me enough to want to participate. But I wasn’t sure I could pull it off. Not only did he say yes — he left a heartwarming voicemail on my phone after he filmed his bit.

He said on the message, “Hey kid, it’s Ashley Bidens dad…,” and it made me laugh. Even as the sitting president, he was still the same guy. A total sweetheart.

Aubrey’s husband Jeff Baena has passed away and I will not posting about it more than what is found here. Per Deadline Hollywood:

Baena is survived by wife Aubrey Plaza, mom Barbara Stern and stepfather Roger Stern, dad Scott Baena and stepmother Michele Baena, brother Brad Baena and stepsister and stepbrother Bianca Gabay and Jed Fluxman.

The family is devastated and asks for privacy at this difficult time.

I wish Aubrey, Jeff’s family, and those who loved Jeff strength and peace at this difficult time.
